It's a pig's life

It all started thousands of years ago
when Piggy strolled along the railroad
She wasn't looking up ('twas the vertigo)
and crushed to a pulp were her gentle bones

Yet you think naught of the porcus clan
except when you start to sweat
Or a scary, dangerous experiment
needs a guinea for a test

Our mud-baths much amuse you
and we hog most references to greed
But when it comes to pork chops,
our valued contribution you need

We serve your appetites for gluttony
and entertain you while you rest
Snowball and Napoleon, Babe and Porky,
to please you, do their best!

While you use our name in vain,
this persecution has to end
We shall rise in rebellion
your sins you will amend

The reign of the Porcus will take off
Laugh all you want, it will happen soon
"When pigs fly?" you might scoff!

Captivating my senses

Of her rich brown skin
Exotic, redolent
Of sensual satisfaction
I cannot resist,
I take a detour
Through the dark,
Delightful forest
Of forbidden thoughts
To finally surrender to sin
Ecstasy takes over,
As I dig my teeth
Into the chocolate brownie

It was a lazy afternoon, no one seemed to be home.
About the homely lattices did we joyfully roam
I saw her swimming near the nucleus next door,
Her bottom quark made my magnetic field soar!
I sensed her minus half spin synchronizing with mine
The environs throbbed with energy…the feeling was divine!
I could see us jumping across energy levels together,
This love, it seemed, would last forever!
I knew then, that I wasn’t just a wave or particle, but much more!
My ego swelled, I could’ve said ,” Boo!” to Mr Bohr!
I swam faster and faster, to reach my quantum of love,
It began to get hotter, I started to huff and puff.
All of a sudden, somewhere, a switch was flipped
And through the roomy lattices, a surge of power zipped.
Away we were swept by a mighty force unknown,
To the other end of our world we were thrown
Amid the stampeding crowd, I looked around for her
But the chance, it seemed, had been lost forever.
I cried myself to oscillation that night,
And shed as many tears as a strong young electron might.
But,in the bottom of my heart, I knew we would’ve never gelled
For, as the laws of physics state, likes will always repel.

A Polar Bear on Tour

The friendly people at the zoo, they came to set me free
To take my back to my frozen home ashore the Arctic sea
I was shipped into a chopper in a box tagged “Bear”
With a yummy can of fish and a soft rug for my lair

I fell into a sweet slumber dreaming of my home up north
When the chopper landed with a thud and I was pushed forth
I looked around in glee but couldn’t find a speck of water
Those imbeciles had dropped me in the midst of the Sahara!

I grunted and snorted and threw an angry polar tantrum
Sweating and smelly I sat on the prickly sand, looking ever so glum
Oh! How I missed the Arctic ice – here I saw only dry sand
I could see no fish or lichens; it sure wasn’t the place for a gourmand

A group of haughty camels then passed me by (My! What arrogance!)
“This one needs a bit of a tan”, said one to his snobbish friends
And so I saw I had no choice but to grow a hump or two
And get a tan too ‘coz in Rome you do as Romans do

It took some time but I grew myself a dainty little hump!
But try as I might, the fur is still white and I’m still a little plump
The camels, my friends, they say to me –“You’re not one of us!”
And I ask myself, what did I get from all the sandy fuss?

I’m neither a camel now, nor a polar bear anymore
I’m stuck in between and don’t know which way to go
I’m a vegetarian with an eye for pretty camelines (like a regular bloke!)
I wanted to be a dromedary but now I’m a Saharan joke

A Polar Bear on Tour – Part II (A Prophet in the Desert )

It has been a while since the identity crisis
But at times, the niggling question still arises
What is my purpose in this barren sandy place?
Is it my calling to uplift the camel race?

I would ponder in my cozy oasis-side igloo
Where time is a-plenty and distractions few
I called a meeting to announce my noble intention
To educate the boors and show them the path to redemption

A more difficult task I have never faced since
Camels as a race are even worse than humans!
No sense of cleanliness, no respect for private space
No gallantry, no respect for me and no saying grace

I worked day and night and saw the philistines getting better
Till one day, my five favorite pupils all married their only sister!
I failed in my mission, and drank myself to despair
I was no messiah, just a hopeless Saharan polar bear

Since that day, many more have passed me by
The camels haven’t changed a bit and neither have I
I now have a pretty cameline wife and a confused pair of twins
They look a lot like my wife, but with my double chins
